The
Mediterranean sea has one of the strongest whales and dolphins
concentration of the world.
The protection of this natural patrimony is
very important also for the next generations.
To determine
carefully the number, the distribution, the moving and the practice of the
marine mammals living in the Mediterranean sea, the association BATTIBALENO
every year organize the operation DELPHIS.
The operation DELPHIS is
the biggest mobilization of sailors that offers their boat and personal
knowledge for making sightings, pictures, test, etc.
All
the informations collected from many observation points creates an instant
image of the actual presence of marine mammals and of their habitat.
The
next 20 of july take part in the operation DELPHIS 2003, for the
protection of whales and dolphins in the Mediterranean.
